8 REQUESTING THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 143 BE NAMED FOR
9 PRIVATE FIRST CLASS JAMES JACOB HARRELSON.

11 WHEREAS, in honor and memory of United States Army
12 Private First Class James Jacob "Spanky" Harrelson, it would
13 be appropriate to name the American Legion Post 143 for him in
14 Dadeville, Alabama; and
15 WHEREAS, Private First Class Harrelson valiantly
16 served with distinction in the United States Army in Iraq; a
17 19-year-old soldier from Dadeville, Alabama, he was killed by
18 a roadside bomb, giving the ultimate sacrifice while driving a
19 Humvee in a convoy as part of the Army's 1st Infantry
20 Battalion; and
21 WHEREAS, Private First Class Harrelson will be
22 remembered as friendly, positive, and having a contagious
23 smile; a young man whose great sacrifice admirably served his
24 community, state, and country; indeed, he was an exceptional
25 Alabamian whose passing is deeply regretted; now therefore,
26 BE IT RESOLVED BY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That in recognition of Private First
