3 CONGRATULATING THE OPELIKA BOYS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM
4 FOR WINNING THE 2021 ALABAMA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
5 CLASS 6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

7 WHEREAS, highest congratulations are herein proudly
8 presented to the Opelika Boys Track and Field Team for winning
9 the 2021 Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A
10 State Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama; and
11 WHEREAS, through teamwork, diligence, and a
12 commitment to excellence, the Opelika Boys Track and Field
13 Team was victorious at the 2021 Alabama High School Athletic
14 Association Class 6A State Championship Track Meet, capturing
15 the Championship Title, which marks the outstanding team's
16 11th State Title since 1998; the Bulldogs scored an impressive
17 114.50 points, which was 44.50 points more than Scottsboro
18 High School's score; and
19 WHEREAS, altogether, the Opelika Boys Track and
20 Field Team has won the State Championship Title in the years
21 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2015, 2016, 2017,
22 and now 2021; and
23 WHEREAS, expert guidance and leadership were
24 provided by Coach Jimmy Johnson; and

1 WHEREAS, the talented team members of the Opelika
2 Boys Track and Field Team continue to inspire many in their
3 communities and beyond; now therefore,
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
5 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Opelika Boys Track and
6 Field Team is highly congratulated, and we hereby dedicate
7 this resolution to the team members and their coach with
8 utmost admiration, along with sincere best wishes for
9 continued success in all future endeavors.
