9 STALLWORTH.

11 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
12 death of Reverend William Dwight Stallworth; and
13 WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of
14 his loving family, many friends, and the entire community,
15 where he was highly regarded; and
16 WHEREAS, Reverend Stallworth was born on August 29,
17 1951, to William E. Stallworth and Addie V. Stallworth; and
18 WHEREAS, at an early age, Reverend Stallworth
19 accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, under the
20 pastorship of Reverend W.M. Patton at Bethesda Missionary
21 Baptist Church; and
22 WHEREAS, Reverend Stallworth held a Bachelor of
23 Science Degree in Speech Pathology from The University of
24 South Alabama; and
25 WHEREAS, he was married to the love of his life,
26 Odessa Taliaferro; and

1 WHEREAS, a man of incredible leadership skills and
2 unwavering diligence, Reverend Stallworth held numerous
3 positions at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church and its
4 affiliated associations for over 50 years; some of his
5 positions included Deacon, Treasurer, and Sunday School
6 Superintendent and Teacher; he also served Conecuh County,
7 Alabama, as an educator and Speech Pathologist for over 35
8 years; and
9 WHEREAS, on March 15, 2015, Reverend Stallworth
10 preached a wonderful sermon, which led to him being installed
11 as the Pastor of Hamden Ridge Missionary Baptist Church on
12 April 7, 2019; and
13 WHEREAS, Reverend Stallworth was indeed a selfless
14 and caring man who was passionate about serving others; and
15 WHEREAS, he is survived by his daughter, Dr. Portia
16 Rionne Stallworth; familial daughter, Kimberly (Howard);
17 familial son, Warren, Jr.; brothers, Warren A. Stallworth,
18 Sr., James V. Stallworth, and Jerald D. Stallworth (Lisa);
19 sisters, Frances R. and Gale M. (Wendell); sister-in-law,
20 Reverend Dorothy Taliaferro Staples (Linwood);
21 brothers-in-law, Mizell Taliaferro, Jr. (Hattie) and Booker T.
22 Taliaferro; uncles, Reverend Moses S. and Jeremiah T.; aunt,
23 Jessie D. Henry (David); Godson, William Nettles; and a host
24 of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends,
25 colleagues, and acquaintances; and

1 WHEREAS, although his presence will be greatly
2 missed, the memory of Reverend Stallworth will be cherished in
3 the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now therefore,
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
5 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Reverend William
6 Dwight Stallworth is recorded with deep sadness, and this
7 resolution is offered in tribute to his life, along with
8 heartfelt sympathy to his family, whose grief is shared by
9 many.
