8 COMMENDING JACKSON HUGHES FOR BEING THE 2021 AHSAA
9 BOYS STATE TENNIS CHAMPION.

11 WHEREAS, highest commendations and congratulations
12 are herein proudly presented to Jackson Hughes of Providence
13 Christian School for remarkable success in winning the first
14 individual state title in school history in tennis; and
15 WHEREAS, through hard work, diligence, and an
16 unwavering commitment to excellence, seventh grader, Jackson
17 Hughes, earned the state title at number 6 singles, beating
18 Houston Academy's Thomas Buntin in the championship match 4-6,
19 7-5, and 10-8; and
20 WHEREAS, he opened the tournament with a 6-2, 3-6,
21 and 11-9 win over Westminster's Andrew Robinson, before
22 beating Lexington's Nick Malon in the semifinal match 6-3 both
23 sets; and
24 WHEREAS, the talented and hardworking Jackson Hughes
25 is a one-of-a-kind athlete whose determination, heart, and
26 effort inspire countless others in his community and beyond to
27 also give their all; and

1 WHEREAS, the achievements of this student-athlete
2 reflect immense credit upon the entire State of Alabama, and
3 he is truly deserving of special recognition; now therefore,
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
5 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Jackson Hughes is honored and
6 commended for being the 2021 AHSAA Boys State Tennis Champion,
7 and this resolution is offered in highest tribute, along with
8 sincere best wishes for continued success in future endeavors.
