8 CONGRATULATING UNIQUE THOMPSON FOR BEING SELECTED BY
9 THE INDIANA FEVER OF THE WNBA.

11 WHEREAS, highest congratulations are herein proudly
12 presented to Unique Thompson for being selected by the Indiana
13 Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association in April
14 2021; and
15 WHEREAS, Unique was the seventh player taken in the
16 second round and the 19th player overall selected in the 2021
17 Women's National Basketball Association Draft in April, the
18 first player from Auburn University to be selected, and the
19 first Auburn player drafted since DeWanna Bonner and Whitney
20 Boddie were selected in 2009; a four-year standout for the
21 Tigers at Auburn University, she led her team in scoring this
22 past season with 17.8 points per contest and averaged 12.8
23 rebounds per game to lead the Southeastern Conference; and
24 WHEREAS, at Auburn University, Unique produced a
25 school record with 58 double-doubles and averaged 14.1 points
26 and 10.6 rebounds per game over four seasons; she was one of
27 just two players in the country this season who posted

1 multiple games of at least 20 points with 20 rebounds while
2 receiving second-team All-SEC honors; she finished 1,540
3 points and 1,156 rebounds, making her Auburn's all-time
4 rebounder; furthermore, she is a two-time Class 5A First-Team
5 All-State selection and a two-time First-Team AL.com Coastal
6 Alabama selection; and
7 WHEREAS, a graduate of Faith Academy in Mobile,
8 Alabama, Unique's diligence, talent, and commitment to
9 excellence make her an inspiration to many in her community
10 and beyond; now therefore,
11 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
12 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Unique Thompson is highly
13 congratulated, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to her
14 with utmost admiration, along with sincere best wishes for
15 continued success in all future endeavors.
