  ENROLLED, House Joint Resolution,
            NAMING A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 46 FROM MILE
  MARKER 18 TO MILE MARKER 21 IN HONOR OF POLICE CHIEF STEVE
  TUCKER.

            WHEREAS, in honor of Police Chief Steve Tucker, it
  is appropriate to name a portion of State Highway 46 in
  Ranburne, Alabama in his memory and in his honor; and
           WHEREAS, Police Chief Tucker served bravely and
 honorably in law enforcement for over three decades; with
 short stints in the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office and the
 Bowdon Police Department before joining the Ranburne Police
 Department; he was named the Chief of Police of his hometown
 of Ranburne in 1991; it is with profound sorrow that we note
 his death on April 9, 2021; and
           WHEREAS, highly respected by his fellow police
 officers and in his community, Police Chief Tucker was known
 to be passionate about his job, helping others, and serving
 the community; and
           WHEREAS, while no action on our part can make amends
 to his family and friends for their loss, this special
 designation may help ensure that he is constantly remembered
 with utmost gratitude by all Alabamians; now therefore,

           BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That in honor of Police Chief Steve
 Tucker, we declare that the portion of State Highway 46 from
 Mile Marker 18 to Mile Marker 21 in Ranburne, Alabama, be
 named Chief Steve Tucker Drive as a memorial for his
 dedication and service.
           BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the appropriate
 officials be requested to place and maintain signs or markers
 as provided in this resolution.
