2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Coffee County; to further provide for
4 the salaries of the judge of probate and the sheriff, to amend
5 Section 45-16-84.01, Code of Alabama 1975; to further provide
6 for the salary of the judge of probate, to amend Section
7 45-16-230, Code of Alabama 1975, to further provide for the
8 salary of the sheriff; and to amend Section 45-16- 84.02, Code
9 of Alabama 1975, to further provide for the salary of the
10 revenue commissioner.
11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
12 Section 1. Section 45-16-84.01, Code of Alabama
13 1975, is amended to read as follows:
14 "45-16-84.01.
15 "(a) A Judge of Probate of Coffee County who is
16 first elected or appointed on or after September 22, 2015,
17 March 8, 2021, shall receive an annual base salary of
18 seventy-five eighty-five thousand dollars ($75,000) ($85,000)
19 per year. Except as provided in subsection (b), the salary
20 shall constitute the total compensation payable to the judge
21 of probate, and shall be in lieu of any salary, expense
22 allowance, or other compensation provided by law. The judge of
23 probate shall be paid from the same funds and in the same
24 manner as presently provided.

1 "(b) The annual salary provided in subsection (a)
2 shall continue to be adjusted thereafter as authorized in
3 Chapter 2A of Title 11.
4 "(c) If there is a break in continuous service as
5 judge of probate on or after September 22, 2015, March 8,
6 2021, upon reappointment or reelection as judge of probate, he
7 or she shall receive the base salary as provided in subsection
8 (a), which may be adjusted as provided in subsection (b)."
9 Section 2. Section 45-16-84.02, Code of Alabama
10 1975, is amended to read as follows:
11 "45-16-84.02.
12 "(a) A Revenue Commissioner of Coffee County elected
13 on or after September 22, 2015, March 8, 2021, shall receive
14 an annual base salary of seventy-five eighty-five thousand
15 dollars ($75,000) ($85,000) per year. Except as provided in
16 subsection (b), the salary shall constitute the total
17 compensation payable to the revenue commissioner, and shall be
18 in lieu of any salary, expense allowance, or other
19 compensation provided by law. The revenue commissioner shall
20 be paid from the same funds and in the same manner as
21 presently provided.
22 "(b) The annual salary provided in subsection (a)
23 shall continue to be adjusted thereafter as authorized in
24 Chapter 2A of Title 11.

1 "(c) If there is a break in continuous service as
2 revenue commissioner on or after the effective date of this
3 act, upon reappointment or reelection as revenue commissioner,
4 he or she shall receive the base salary as provided in
5 subsection (a), which may be adjusted as provided in
6 subsection (b)."
7 Section 3. Section 45-16-230, Code of Alabama 1975,
8 is amended to read as follows:
9 "45-16-230.
10 "A Sheriff of Coffee County elected or appointed on
11 or after September 22, 2015, March 8, 2021, shall receive an
12 annual salary of seventy-five eighty-five thousand dollars
13 ($75,000) ($85,000) per year. Except as provided in subsection
14 (b), the salary shall constitute the total compensation
15 payable to the sheriff, and shall be in lieu of any salary,
16 expense allowance, or other compensation provided by law. The
17 sheriff shall be paid from the same funds and in the same
18 manner as presently provided.
19 "(b) The annual salary provided in subsection (a)
20 shall continue to be adjusted thereafter as authorized in
21 Chapter 2A of Title 11.
22 "(c) If there is a break in continuous service as
23 sheriff on or after September 22, 2015, March 8, 2021, upon
24 reappointment or reelection as sheriff, he or she shall

1 receive the base salary as provided in subsection (a), which
2 may be adjusted as provided in subsection (b)."
3 Section 4. The annual salary of the incumbent Judge
4 of Probate of Coffee County or the incumbent Sheriff of Coffee
5 County holding office on the effective date of this act shall
6 be increased by ten thousand dollars ($10,000) beginning with
7 the next term of such office following this act becoming law.
8 Section 5. This act shall become effective
9 immediately following its passage and approval by the
10 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
