2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Lamar County; to provide law enforcement
4 powers for a community corrections officer in certain
5 circumstances.
6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
7 Section 1. Upon successfully completing the minimum
8 standards of training and other requirements for law
9 enforcement officers of the Peace Officers' Standards and
10 Training Commission, a community corrections officer employed
11 by the Community Punishment and Corrections Authority of the
12 24th Judicial Circuit, operating in Lamar County, shall have
13 the same law enforcement powers, including powers of arrest,
14 as granted to law enforcement officers of this state.
15 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
16 first day of the third month following its passage and
17 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
