8 CELEBRATING THE 100TH BIRTHDAY OF MRS. ANNIE LOU
9 BLANKENSHIP CRUMPTON.

11 WHEREAS, warmest congratulations are herein proudly
12 extended to Mrs. Annie Lou Blankenship Crumpton on the
13 occasion of her milestone 100th Birthday on April 26, 2021;
14 and
15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Crumpton was born on April 26, 1921,
16 in Mount Hope, Alabama, to the late Flemin Morrison and Ida M.
17 Jenkins Morrison; and
18 WHEREAS, Mrs. Crumpton married Joseph Willard
19 Blankenship on June 24, 1939; they were married for 20 years
20 and had six children together before Mr. Blankenship passed
21 away in 1960; in 1974, Mrs. Crumpton married Herman Crumpton,
22 and she was widowed again in 1985; and
23 WHEREAS, Mrs. Crumpton has been a diligent worker
24 her entire life; she and her first husband farmed for a
25 living; after her first husband passed away, she and her
26 children, ranging in ages 2 to 19 at the time, continued
27 farming for more than two years; Mrs. Crumpton then worked as

1 a bookkeeper for the Mount Hope Cotton Gin for several years;
2 later, she served as an aide with the Lawrence County
3 Hospital; in 1981, she began working with the Lawrence County
4 Commission on Aging, where she worked for 34 years before
5 retiring at the age of 94; and
6 WHEREAS, a woman of steadfast faith in God, Mrs.
7 Crumpton has been a member of Mount Hope Methodist Church for
8 all of her life; and
9 WHEREAS, she has six children; 15 grandchildren; 26
10 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren; and
11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Crumpton enjoys quilting, cooking for
12 her family, and traveling; also, she is an avid fan of the
13 Atlanta Braves; and
14 WHEREAS, a woman with a loving heart and a selfless
15 spirit, Mrs. Crumpton is deeply loved and appreciated by many;
16 now therefore,
17 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
18 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Mrs. Annie Lou Blankenship
19 Crumpton is warmly celebrated on the occasion of her milestone
20 100th Birthday, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the
21 incredible centenarian with heartiest admiration and regard.
