2 ENROLLED, House Joint Resolution,
3 COMMENDING JACOB ALLEN HELMS ON ATTAINING THE RANK
4 OF EAGLE SCOUT IN THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.
5
6 WHEREAS, commendations and congratulations are
7 extended to Jacob Allen Helms of Boy Scout Troop 123 in
8 Headland, Alabama, on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the
9 highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America; and
10 WHEREAS, Jacob began his journey with the Boy Scouts
11 in 2010; he has earned 27 merit badges, 13 of which were Eagle
12 merit badges; and
13 WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout Award, earned by only a
14 small percentage of Boy Scouts, involves the completion of an
15 Eagle Scout Project which represents many years of diligence
16 in pursuit of a worthy goal that brings honor to the Boy
17 Scout, his family, and his troop; and
18 WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout Project, Jacob was
19 honored to install a 20-foot flagpole in front of Twin
20 Magnolias Assisted Living in Abbeville, Alabama; and
21 WHEREAS, throughout the years, Jacob Allen Helms has
22 exhibited those hard-earned characteristics of
23 trustworthiness, self-discipline, and good citizenship, all
24 components of the scouting program; with the guidance and
25 support of his scouting leaders, he has earned the esteem of

1 his community, fellow students, and all Alabamians; now
2 therefore,
3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
4 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That in recognition of his
5 outstanding achievement in attaining the prestigious rank of
6 Eagle Scout, Jacob Allen Helms is highly commended, and this
7 resolution is offered in tribute to him along with best wishes
8 in all future endeavors.
