2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Shelby County; to further provide for
4 the salary of the Shelby County Property Tax Commissioner by
5 converting an existing expense allowance to salary commencing
6 on the next term of office; to specify that the property tax
7 commissioner would continue to receive the same cost-of-living
8 increases granted to other county officials and to ratify and
9 confirm any cost-of-living increases granted prior to the
10 effective date of this act; and to repeal Act 2006-240 of the
11 2006 Regular Session effective beginning the next term of
12 office of the property tax commissioner.
13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
14 Section 1. (a) Effective commencing on the next term
15 of office beginning on October 1, 2021, the expense allowance
16 granted to the Shelby County Property Tax Commissioner in the
17 amount of six hundred dollars ($600) per month pursuant to Act
18 2006-240, 2006 Regular Session shall be converted to salary,
19 and the expense allowance shall be null and void and shall be
20 repealed.
21 (b) In addition to any other salary granted to the
22 Shelby County Property Tax Commissioner, the Shelby County
23 Property Tax Commissioner shall be entitled to receive any
24 uniform increases in compensation whether in the form of
25 cost-of-living raises or otherwise granted to any county

1 official of Shelby County, and any cost-of-living increases or
2 other uniform increases granted to the property tax
3 commissioner prior to the effective date of this act are
4 ratified and confirmed.
5 Section 2. Effective commencing on the beginning of
6 the next term of office of the Shelby County Property Tax
7 Commissioner, Act 2006-240 of the 2006 Regular Session is
8 repealed.
9 Section 3. This act shall become effective
10 immediately following its passage and approval by the
11 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
