8 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, a rule of the Department
9 of Conservation and Natural Resources prohibits a
10 person from taking or having in his or her
11 possession on a daily basis more than one catfish
12 34 inches or longer.
13 This bill would supersede this rule and
14 specify that there would be no size restriction on
15 taking or possessing catfish.

18 TO BE ENTITLED
19 AN ACT

21 Relating to catfish; to provide that it would be
22 lawful for a person to take or have in his or her possession
23 catfish without any limit on the number or size of the
24 catfish.
25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
26 Section 1. Notwithstanding any rule of the
27 Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, it shall be

1 lawful for any person to take or have in his or her possession
2 catfish without any limit on the number or size of the
3 catfish.
4 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
5 first day of the third month following its passage and
6 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
