2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Monroe County; providing for the expense
4 allowance and compensation of the sheriff.
5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
6 Section 1. The Sheriff of Monroe County shall
7 receive an additional expense allowance of fifteen thousand
8 dollars ($15,000) per year, payable in equal monthly
9 installments from the general fund of the county. This expense
10 allowance shall be in addition to all other compensation or
11 benefits received by the sheriff and may be treated as
12 compensation for retirement contributions.
13 Section 2. Beginning with the next term of office,
14 the expense allowance paid to the sheriff as provided in
15 Section 1 shall become additional compensation for the sheriff
16 and the expense allowance in Section 1 shall be null and void.
17 This compensation shall be in addition to all other
18 compensation or benefits received.
19 Section 3. This act shall become effective on
20 October 1, 2021, following its passage and approval by the
21 Governor or its otherwise becoming law.
