8 MOURNING THE DEATH OF NORMAN LEE PIZITZ.

10 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
11 death on March 16, 2021, of Norman Lee Pizitz, at the age of
12 91; and
13 WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of
14 his loving family, many friends, and the entire community,
15 where he was highly regarded; Mr. Pizitz was born on December
16 28, 1929, to Abraham and Lillian Pizitz; and
17 WHEREAS, a true native of Hunstville, Alabama, Mr.
18 Pizitz was born in Huntsville Hospital and grew up on Newman
19 Avenue; graduating from Huntsville High School in 1947, he was
20 a member of the football team; he was a 1952 graduate of The
21 University of Alabama and a member of Kappa Nu fraternity; and
22 WHEREAS, his military service included serving in
23 the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War; Mr.
24 Pizitz was a community leader and businessman throughout his
25 life in Hunstville; and
26 WHEREAS, Mr. Pizitz was an avid tennis player in a
27 group called "The Lemonade Society"; he loved gardening,

1 fishing, boating, riding the jet ski, and especially spending
2 time with his beloved granddaughter, Bentley; and
3 WHEREAS, he was predeceased by his parents; and son,
4 Mark Bentley Pizitz; Mr. Pizitz is survived by his wife, Velda
5 Huggins Pizitz; daughter, Rhonda Ridner (Michael); and
6 granddaughter, Bentley Ridner; and a host of other relatives
7 and many friends; and
8 WHEREAS, although his presence will be greatly
9 missed, the memories of Mr. Pizitz will be cherished in the
10 hearts of all who knew and loved him; now therefore,
11 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
12 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Mr. Norman Lee
13 Pizitz is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is
14 offered in tribute to his life, along with heartfelt sympathy
15 to his family, whose grief is shared by many.
