8 Relating to alcoholic beverages; to allow a retailer
9 licensed to sell beer or wine for off-premises consumption to
10 use a drive-through or walk-up window for the purchase of beer
11 and wine; and to require the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
12 to adopt rules.
13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
14 Section 1. (a) Any retailer licensed to sell beer or
15 wine for off-premises consumption by the Alcoholic Beverage
16 Control Board may contain facilities for the sale of beer or
17 table wine, or both, by means of a "drive-up," "walk-up," or
18 "drive-thru" window or other type of exterior access. Any
19 employee handling beer or wine at the "drive-up," "walk-up,"
20 or "drive-thru" window must be 21 years of age or older.
21 (b) Any sale made pursuant to subsection (a) shall
22 be subject to all existing federal, state, and local laws,
23 rules, and regulations for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
24 (b) (c) Not later than January 1, 2022, the board
25 shall adopt rules to implement this section.
