5 MOURNING THE DEATH OF JOAN ELLIOTT TRAWICK.

7 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
8 death on December 27, 2020, of Mrs. Joan Elliott Trawick, at
9 the age of 81; and
10 WHEREAS, her passing leaves a void in the lives of
11 her loving family, many friends, and the entire community,
12 where she was highly regarded; Mrs. Trawick was born in Henry
13 County, Alabama, on September 6, 1939, to Jacob Daniel and
14 Delzora Elliott; and
15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Trawick married her high school
16 sweetheart, Coach Dan Wayne Trawick; she was a resident of
17 Phenix City, Alabama, and a realtor; she was the classic
18 example of a coach's wife; she was a staunch supporter of her
19 husband and the schools they served together during his
20 coaching career; she was a mother figure to many; she and her
21 husband, Wayne, often went the extra mile, taking young people
22 in need of help into their home; she enjoyed keeping a
23 scrapbook of awards, photos, and documents of their life
24 together and his coaching career; and

1 WHEREAS, she was a member of Trinity United
2 Methodist Church in Phenix City, Alabama; Mrs. Trawick enjoyed
3 reading, writing poems, sending cards, laughing, and telling
4 funny stories to share her joy with others; and
5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Trawick is predeceased by her parents;
6 she is survived by her brother, Shreve Elliot; sister, Laura
7 Elliott Eady; and son, Terry Trawick, better known to radio
8 listeners around the country as Steve Shannon; her husband
9 survived her by one month; and
10 WHEREAS, although her presence will be greatly
11 missed, the memories of Mrs. Trawick will be cherished in the
12 hearts of all who knew and loved her; now therefore,
13 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
14 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the death of Mrs. Joan Elliott
15 Trawick is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is
16 offered in tribute to her life, along with heartfelt sympathy
17 to her family, whose grief is shared by many.
