8 CONGRATULATING THE FYFFE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM
9 ON WINNING THE ALABAMA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION BOYS
10 CLASS 3A 2021 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

12 WHEREAS, we take pride and pleasure in
13 congratulating the Fyffe High School Boys Basketball Team of
14 Fyffe, Alabama, on winning the Alabama High School Athletic
15 Association Boys Class 3A 2021 State Championship; and
16 WHEREAS, the Red Devils finished the season with a
17 record of 27-6, and the school's first state title appearance
18 since 1950, under the dynamic leadership of Head Coach Neal
19 Thrash; and
20 WHEREAS, with a group of supportive and appreciative
21 fans in attendance, the Red Devils won the state championship
22 game by defeating Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School by a
23 score of 49-43; and
24 WHEREAS, the hardworking and talented team members
25 who contributed individually and collectively to the
26 successful season were: Nathanial Baugh, Will Borst, Tyler
27 Stephens, Micah Johnson, Matthew McCollum, Michael Works,

1 Xavier Works, Matthew Rasberry, William Goolesby, Luc Jones,
2 Lucas Jones, Parker Godwin, Bryson Nance, Brody Dalton, Jesse
3 Matthews, Tate Goolesby, and Dawson McCollum; Parker Godwin,
4 the tournament Most Valuable Player, led the way with 21
5 points, four rebounds, and two assists; the University of
6 Alabama at Birmingham signee, All-Tournament team recipient,
7 and dual sport player, Brody Dalton, finished with 12 points
8 and 11 rebounds; Micah Johnson had 11 points and seven
9 rebounds; and Tate Goolsby pulled down 11 rebounds for the Red
10 Devils' championship win; and
11 WHEREAS, through team work, diligence, and an
12 unwavering commitment to excellence, the Red Devils continue
13 to perform admirably; and
14 WHEREAS, the school's administration, the entire
15 faculty, and the community have supported the Red Devils and
16 recognize the outstanding athletic success of the team
17 members; now therefore,
18 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
19 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we are proud to recognize and
20 commend the Fyffe High School Basketball Team on winning the
21 Alabama High School Athletic Association Boys Class 3A 2021
22 State Championship; and we hereby dedicate this resolution to
23 the team members and the coaches in heartiest admiration,
24 along with best wishes for continued success in all future
25 endeavors.
