8 SYNOPSIS: This bill would authorize the Chief
9 Executive Officers of the Alabama State Employees
10 Insurance Board and the Local Government Health
11 Insurance Board to approve the offering of group
12 insurance products.

18 To authorize the Chief Executive Officers of the
19 Alabama State Employees Insurance Board and the Local
20 Government Health Insurance Board to approve the offering of
21 group insurance products.
22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
23 Section 1. The Chief Executive Officers of the
24 Alabama State Employees Insurance Board and the Local
25 Government Health Insurance Board, with the consent of their
26 respective boards, may approve the offering of group voluntary
27 benefit products, not to include major medical coverage, by

1 insurance carriers that have been approved by the Commissioner
2 of Insurance.
3 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
4 first day of the third month following its passage and
5 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
