3 HONORING MRS. MARIE ALEXANDRIA POIROUX WILSON WHITE
4 ON THE OCCASION OF HER 100TH BIRTHDAY.
5
6 WHEREAS, we take great pride and pleasure in
7 honoring Mrs. Marie Alexandria Poiroux Wilson White on the
8 occasion of her 100th birthday, which is a significant
9 milestone representing years of memories and wisdom gained,
10 and a reason for great celebration; and
11 WHEREAS, she was born on March 20, 1921, three
12 months after her family's arrival in Irvington, Alabama, from
13 Manitoba, Canada; she was the ninth of 12 children born to
14 August Poiroux and Jeanne Poiroux; and
15 WHEREAS, Mrs. White is a devout Christian who always
16 puts God first; she is especially known as a "Prayer Warrior";
17 when her neighbors, friends, and fellow church members need
18 special prayers, she is always contacted; she reserves two
19 hours a day to watch EWTN and prays while watching the Mass
20 and praying the Rosary; and
21 WHEREAS, she is a beloved Mom, Mama, Grandma, and
22 Maw Maw; her children agree that she is the best mother anyone
23 could have; regardless of hardships, disappointments, and
24 grief, Mrs. White believes that "One can survive with daily

1 prayer, never losing faith, and always believing and trusting
2 in God"; and
3 WHEREAS, she will be celebrating her 100th birthday
4 with 174 family members, including 17 children and their
5 spouses, 54 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, 27
6 great-great-grandchildren, and two
7 great-great-great-grandchildren, as well as many friends; now
8 therefore,
9 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
10 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That in we highly honor and
11 congratulate Mrs. Marie Alexandria Poiroux Wilson White, on
12 the occasion of celebrating her 100th Birthday, and this
13 resolution is offered to her in highest tribute and deepest
14 admiration, along with best wishes for the future.
