3 CONGRATULATING THE GLENWOOD SCHOOL LADY GATORS
4 VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE ALABAMA INDEPENDENT
5 SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS 3A GIRLS BASKETBALL STATE
6 CHAMPIONSHIP.

8 WHEREAS, it is with pride and pleasure that
9 commendations and congratulations are extended to the Glenwood
10 School Lady Gators Varsity Basketball Team on winning the 2021
11 Alabama Independent School Association Class 3A Girls
12 Basketball State Championship with a thrilling win over Clarke
13 Preparatory School at the City of Montgomery Multiplex at
14 Cramton Bowl on February 17, 2021; and
15 WHEREAS, this is the Glenwood School Lady Gators
16 Varsity Basketball's crowning achievement, this being the
17 eighth State Championship in the school's history, and this
18 successful season has brought fame and honor to the Lady
19 Gators basketball program, the school, and the community; and
20 WHEREAS, for the 2020-2021 season, the team achieved
21 the goal of becoming Alabama Independent School Association 3A
22 State Champions, defeating Fort Dale Academy and Tuscaloosa
23 Academy and finishing with an impressive win over Clarke
24 Preparatory School; the season was finished with an astounding
25 season record of 23-1; and

1 WHEREAS, inspirational leadership and expert
2 training were provided by Head Coach Dusty Perdue and
3 Assistant Coaches Elizabeth Perdue and Cathy Craw; the
4 talented roster included Leia King, Jamarra McDowell, Mya
5 Brooks, Macie Fanning, Payton Corbett, Katelyn Blackshear,
6 Jasmyn Burts, Ariana Pinder, Emma Head, Olivia Slocumb, Cailin
7 Obert, Anna Grace Griggs, and Lily Weirch; and
8 WHEREAS, the success of this team is due to its
9 mastery of the fundamentals, excellent teamwork, and a strong
10 competitive spirit, as well as the enthusiastic support of the
11 player's parents and the school's administrators, faculty, and
12 students, along with the many loyal fans in the community; now
13 therefore,
14 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
15 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Glenwood School Lady Gators
16 Varsity Basketball Team is honored and commended for the
17 outstanding achievement of winning the 2021 Alabama
18 Independent School Association Class 3A Girls Basketball State
19 Championship, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the
20 team members and the coaches in heartiest admiration, along
21 with best wishes for continued success in all future
22 endeavors.
