8 COMMENDING THE REVEREND MICHAEL E. JACKSON FOR
9 PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS.

11 WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, we
12 extend highest commendations to The Reverend Michael E.
13 Jackson for his professional achievements; and
14 WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson received his associate's
15 degree from S.D. Bishop State Junior College and undergraduate
16 degree from the University of Mobile; he attended New Orleans
17 Baptist Seminary, graduating with a master's degree; he earned
18 his professional doctorate degree from Virginia Union
19 University School of Theology; and
20 WHEREAS, his esteemed career began in 1976 at
21 Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church, where he currently serves
22 as Pastor as well as Executive Director of Aimwell's Learning
23 Tree Day Care; he is an Associate Professor of Theology at
24 Selma University; previously, he was an Associate Professor at
25 Bishop State Junior College, Probation Counselor II at James
26 Strickland Youth Center, and a Supervisor at the Methodist
27 Home for Children; and

1 WHEREAS, within the community and state, he has
2 served in many vital positions and capacities for numerous
3 organizations including Leadership Mobile Class of 1977, City
4 of Mobile Chairman of Human Relation Commission, State of
5 Alabama Citizen Commission on Youth Violence; National Baptist
6 Convention, USA, Inc. Home Mission Board Member, Center for
7 the Improvement of Child Caring Certified Parenting
8 Instructor, Member of Alpha Phi Alpha-Beta Omicron Lambda,
9 Member of Inter-Baptist Fellowship Committee, Board Member of
10 Compassionate Friends, CEO of the Orange Grove Community
11 Development Corporation, and Member of Sigma Pi Phi
12 Fraternity-Grand Boule; and
13 WHEREAS, as an inspiration, a leader, and a friend
14 to many, The Reverend Michael E. Jackson is very deserving of
15 special recognition; now therefore,
16 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
17 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That The Reverend Michael E.
18 Jackson is highly commended, and we hereby dedicate this
19 resolution to him with the utmost appreciation and admiration,
20 along with sincere best wishes for continued success during
21 his retirement.
