6 ENROLLED, An Act,
7 Relating to Cherokee County; to provide for the
8 compensation of the revenue commissioner and the sheriff
9 effective beginning the next term of office; and to provide
10 for the continuing annual training of the sheriff.
11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
12 Section 1. Effective beginning the next term of
13 office, the Revenue Commissioner of Cherokee County shall
14 receive an annual salary that is 85 percent of the annual
15 salary of the Judge of Probate of Cherokee County, except as
16 otherwise provided in Section 4.
17 Section 2. Effective beginning with the next term of
18 office, the Sheriff of Cherokee County shall receive an annual
19 salary that is 60 percent of the annual salary of the District
20 Attorney of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, except as otherwise
21 provided in Section 4.
22 Section 3. Effective beginning with the next term of
23 office, the Sheriff of Cherokee County shall annually complete
24 a minimum of 12 hours of executive level training approved by
25 the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission.

1 Section 4. Sections 1 and 2 do not apply if the
2 result would be a reduction in the annual salary of the
3 revenue commissioner or sheriff.
4 Section 5. This act shall become effective
5 immediately following its passage and approval by the
6 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
