5 CONGRATULATING THE HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE GIRLS AND BOYS
6 INDOOR TRACK TEAMS FOR WINNING AHSAA 7A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
7 TITLES.

9 WHEREAS, highest congratulations are herein proudly
10 presented to the Hewitt-Trussville Girls and Boys Indoor Track
11 Teams for winning AHSAA 7AState Championship Titles; and
12 WHEREAS, the Girls and Boys Indoor Track Teams both
13 won State Titles in the same year for the first time in the
14 school's history; this accomplishment was the Girls Indoor
15 Track Team's second time winning a State Title, the first time
16 being in 1999, and was the Boys Indoor Track Team's first time
17 winning a State Title; the Girls Indoor Track Team won by half
18 a point over Hoover, and the Boys Indoor Track Team won by 4.5
19 points over Vestavia; and
20 WHEREAS, expert guidance and leadership were
21 provided by Head Coach Tom Esslinger, and Assistant Coaches,
22 David Dobbs, Jamey Curlee, Rachel Higginbotham, Mike Deibert,
23 Jihan Loving, and April Howell; this is Coach Esslinger's
24 first year as Head Coach, taking over for Coach David Dobbs,
25 who retired as Head Coach after 30 years; and

1 WHEREAS, through team work, diligence, and an
2 unwavering commitment to excellence, the members of the
3 Hewitt-Trussville Girls and Boys Indoor Track Teams have
4 accomplished great achievements and are inspirations to many
5 in their community and beyond; now therefore,
6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
7 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Hewitt-Trussville Girls
8 and Boys Indoor Track Teams are highly congratulated, and we
9 hereby dedicate this resolution to both talented teams and
10 their Head Coach and Assistant Coaches with utmost admiration,
11 along with sincere best wishes for continued success in all
12 future endeavors.
