2 ENROLLED, House Joint Resolution,
3 MOURNING THE DEATH OF CLANTON CITY COUNCILMAN SAMMY
4 WILSON.

6 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
7 death of Clanton City Councilman, Sammy Don Wilson of Clanton
8 Alabama, on January 28, 2021, at the age of 78; his passing
9 leaves a void in the lives of his loving family, many friends,
10 and the entire community, where he was highly regarded; and
11 WHEREAS, Councilman Wilson was born on August 13,
12 1942, to John and Willie Louise Wilson; he was a self-employed
13 plumber and an electrician; and
14 WHEREAS, he was a dedicated public servant to the
15 residents of the district he represented, District 3, and to
16 the entire City of Clanton; he was instrumental in ensuring
17 the renovations at the Head Start building were made and in
18 coordinating the remodel for the Senior Connection; he also
19 served on the Water and Utility Board; he started every day
20 with a smile and a purpose of working to make Clanton a better
21 place for everyone; and
22 WHEREAS, Councilman Wilson was predeceased by his
23 parents and brothers, J.P. Collins, James Collins and Carl
24 Edwin Wilson; his survivors include his sons, John David
25 Wilson, Don Carrol Wilson, and Hank Glenn; daughter, Ellen

1 Mims (Ronnie); brothers, Ottis Wilson and Johnny Dewayne
2 Wilson; grandsons, Alex David Wilson, Austin Samuel Wilson,
3 Gage Glenn, Jay Mims (Laura), and Josh Mims (Jaclyn);
4 granddaughters, Briana Moore and Nicole Edison;
5 great-grandchildren, Jackson Thomas Mims, Ridlee Lynn Moore,
6 Brady McCormick and Dylan McCormick; six nieces and nephews;
7 and a host of other relatives and many friends; although his
8 presence will be greatly missed, the memories of him will be
9 cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now
10 therefore,
11 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
12 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the death of Clanton City
13 Councilman Sammy Wilson is recorded with deep sadness, and
14 this resolution is offered in tribute to his life and with
15 heartfelt sympathy to his family.
