2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of
4 Alabama of 1901, to provide that the implementation date for
5 any bill enacted by the Legislature in a calendar year in
6 which a general election is to be held and relating to the
7 conduct of the general election shall be at least six months
8 before the general election.
9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
10 Section 1. The following amendment to the
11 Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended, is proposed and
12 shall become valid as a part thereof when approved by a
13 majority of the qualified electors voting thereon and in
14 accordance with Sections 284, 285, and 287 of the Constitution
15 of Alabama of 1901, as amended:
16 PROPOSED AMENDMENT
17 The implementation date for any bill enacted by the
18 Legislature in a calendar year in which a general election is
19 to be held and relating to the conduct of the general election
20 shall be at least six months before the general election.
21 Section 2. An election upon the proposed amendment
22 shall be held in accordance with Sections 284 and 285 of the
23 Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Sections 284
24 and 285 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of

1 Alabama of 1901, as amended, and the election laws of this state.
2 Section 3. The appropriate election official shall
3 assign a ballot number for the proposed constitutional
4 amendment on the election ballot and shall set forth the
5 following description of the substance or subject matter of
6 the proposed constitutional amendment:
7 "Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of
8 Alabama of 1901, as amended; to provide that the
9 implementation date for any bill enacted by the Legislature in
10 a calendar year in which a general election is to be held and
11 relating to the conduct of the general election shall be at
12 least six months before the general election."

14 This description shall be followed by the following
15 language:
