2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Lawrence County; to authorize the
4 Lawrence County Commission to adopt a new county personnel
5 system; and to repeal Article 12, Section 45-40-120 of Chapter
6 40 of Title 45, Code of Alabama 1975, effective upon the
7 adoption of the new county personnel system.
8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
9 Section 1. (a) The Lawrence County Commission may
10 adopt a new county personnel system for county employees
11 pursuant to the authority granted in Amendment 909 of the
12 Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Section
13 43.02 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of
14 Alabama of 1901.
15 (b) Effective upon the effective date of the new
16 county personnel system adopted by the Lawrence County
17 Commission as provided for in subsection (a), the employees of
18 Lawrence County on that date under the existing civil service
19 system shall be transferred in their status on that date to
20 the new personnel system, and Article 12, Section 45-40-120 of
21 Chapter 40 of Title 45, Code of Alabama 1975, providing for
22 the existing civil service system in the county, is repealed.
23 Section 2. All laws or parts of laws which conflict
24 with this act are repealed.

1 Section 3. This act shall become effective
2 immediately following its passage and approval by the
3 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
