5 COMMENDING THE VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES OF
6 ALABAMA.

8 WHEREAS, it is our great pleasure to extend honor
9 and eternal gratitude to the men and women of the United
10 States Military and all veterans who have boldly answered the
11 call of duty to defend our Nation's independence and precious
12 liberties and who dedicate their lives to protecting the
13 security and prosperity of our nation; and
14 WHEREAS, we honor the Soldiers and Veterans
15 everywhere and their families that stand beside them in their
16 mission, who bear our country's cause, and we recognize the
17 integral role our more than 2.6 million military family
18 members play in supporting our military and its mission; and
19 WHEREAS, the United States is a beacon of hope,
20 freedom, and opportunity to people around the world; the
21 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who
22 defend our liberty embody courage, patriotism, loyalty and
23 safe guard the values that keep our great Nation strong; and
24 WHEREAS, we honor the military families, all of the
25 spouses, parents, siblings and children of servicemen and

1 women who bear the increased burdens and responsibilities of
2 active duty service members; and we honor all veterans who
3 bear physical and emotional scars and pain from their military
4 service; no soldier will be forgotten and no military family
5 will be left behind; and
6 WHEREAS, to all of the Military, and to our Veterans
7 who have helped to preserve and defend our precious freedom;
8 and to every family member who shares in the service and
9 sacrifice of military life for our sweet land of liberty we
10 honor and appreciate all that you do to ensure our freedom;
11 now therefore,
12 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
13 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we recognize and honor the
14 service, sacrifices, and contributions of Alabama's veterans
15 and military families for what they have done and for what
16 they will do to support our great Nation.
