8 SYNOPSIS: Existing law sets out the maximum number of
9 days a member of a board of registrars may work on
10 an annual basis, depending on the county.
11 This bill would authorize the quorum of a
12 board of registrars, upon consent of the county
13 commission, to reallocate unused days from one
14 registrar to another registrar, in cases of
15 absence, in order to accomplish the business of the
16 board.

22 Relating to boards of registrars; to add Section
23 17-3-8.1, to the Code of Alabama 1975, to provide further for
24 the number of days a registrar may annually work.
25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
26 Section 1. Section 17-3-8.1 is added to the Code of
27 Alabama 1975, to read as follows:

1 17-3-8.1.
2 Upon receiving the written consent and approval of
3 the county commission and consistent with the annual maximum
4 number of working days authorized under Section 17-3-8, a
5 quorum of a board of registrars of a county may reallocate
6 unused working days from one registrar due to absence to
7 another registrar of that board in order to accomplish the
8 public business of the board.
9 Section 2. This act shall become effective
10 immediately following its passage and approval by the
11 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
