8 COMMENDING THE LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION AND
9 SUPERINTENDENT VANCE HERRON.

11 WHEREAS, we highly honor and commend the Lamar
12 County Board of Education, Superintendent Vance Herron, and
13 their administrative team for providing leadership and
14 guidance, as well as their central office support staff,
15 during this unprecedented pandemic; and
16 WHEREAS, the educators have held firm to their
17 professional and personal commitment to education, and serving
18 our children and communities during this difficult time; they
19 maintain a high level of professionalism and remain steadfast
20 in their daily purpose of providing a consistent routine of
21 educational instruction to their students by teaching
22 in-person, virtually, or both; and
23 WHEREAS, during this difficult time a
24 well-maintained clean and safe environment has been provided
25 by staff, as well as nutrition provided to the students beyond
26 their typical role in child nutrition; and

1 WHEREAS, the school nurses have provided on-campus
2 medical care to the students; and the guidance counselors and
3 mental health coordinators have provided critical and
4 compassionate care; and
5 WHEREAS, the students are provided safe
6 transportation to and from school, as well as to various
7 athletic and academic events; now therefore,
8 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
9 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we highly honor and commend
10 the Lamar County Board of Education, Superintendent Vance
11 Herron, their administrative team, and their central office
12 support staff; and by copy of this resolution we extend to
13 them our highest tribute and deepest admiration, along with
14 best wishes for the future.
