2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Morgan County; to further provide for
4 the compensation of certain election officers in the county.
5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
6 Section 1. (a)(1) The Morgan County Commission may
7 establish and set the compensation of election officers, the
8 return officer, and the inspector and clerks, in the amounts
9 as it shall determine.
10 (2) Notwithstanding subdivision (1), the
11 compensation established and set by the county commission
12 shall not be less than the minimum compensation provided by
13 Section 17-8-12, Code of Alabama 1975.
14 (b) The compensation provided for in this section
15 may be established by resolution of the county commission and
16 changed or amended by subsequent resolution.
17 (c) Election officers shall be entitled to all
18 expenses provided by law in addition to any compensation
19 established pursuant to this act.
20 Section 2. This act shall become effective
21 immediately following its passage and approval by the
22 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
