5 COMMENDING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE ALABAMA
6 BICENTENNIAL ADVISORY COMMISSION, JAY LAMAR.

8 WHEREAS, it is an honor to recognize and commend Jay
9 Lamar, the executive director of the Alabama Bicentennial
10 Advisory Commission, who labored tirelessly to bring together
11 agencies and organizations to ensure that plans were
12 comprehensive and complementary; and
13 WHEREAS, she is greatly appreciated for the work she
14 performed to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the State of
15 Alabama with a celebration befitting the beautiful state and
16 its proud residents; without her expertise in this
17 indispensable role, the bicentennial would surely not have
18 been the great success that it was; and
19 WHEREAS, Jay Lamar's efforts in her capacity as
20 executive director epitomize the drive and spirit of those who
21 have made and continue to make this state great; although it
22 was never in doubt, Jay Lamar has thus proven herself to be a
23 true Alabamian; now therefore,
24 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
25 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we recognize and highly
