5 COMMENDING THE ALABAMA BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION.

7 WHEREAS, it is an honor to recognize and commend the
8 members of the Alabama Bicentennial Commission who lent their
9 efforts and expertise in preparing and implementing the
10 three-year celebration of the diverse people, places, and
11 stories representative of Alabama's two hundred years of
12 history; and
13 WHEREAS, each member of the Alabama Bicentennial
14 Commission is each greatly appreciated for the tireless work
15 they performed to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the
16 beautiful State of Alabama; by doing so, they have honored
17 Alabama's storied past and have preserved that rich history
18 for future Alabamians; and
19 WHEREAS, the members of the commission are Joel
20 Anderson, Mike Ball, Hilary Claybourne, Priscilla
21 Hancock-Cooper, Patricia Ford, Steve Murray, Arthur Orr, Tami
22 Reist, Lee Sentell, Fitzgerald Washington, and Bart Williams;
23 and
24 WHEREAS, it is only fitting that the members of the
25 commission, who labored to organize the celebration of

1 Alabama's history and impact on the nation and world,
2 themselves be commemorated; for, just as the success and
3 fortune of the State of Alabama is due entirely to its
4 peoples, the success of this event is entirely due to the
5 members of the commission and all others who helped conduct
6 the bicentennial celebration; now therefore,
7 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
8 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we highly recognize and
9 commend the members of the Alabama Bicentennial Commission,
10 and this resolution is presented with heartfelt gratitude and
11 admiration for their accomplishments and the service they
12 rendered our great state.
13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That each member of the
14 Alabama Bicentennial Commission be delivered a copy of this
15 resolution, so that their names may be commemorated for all
16 time alongside the grand bicentennial celebration they labored
17 to prepare.
