8 SYNOPSIS: This bill would authorize the Board of

17 Relating to tuition rates at public institutions of
18 higher education; to authorize the Board of Trustees of
19 Alabama State University to extend resident tuition rates to
20 qualified nonresident students.
21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
22 Section 1. Any provision of Chapter 64, Title 16, of
23 the Code of Alabama 1975, to the contrary notwithstanding, the
24 Board of Trustees of Alabama State University may extend
25 resident tuition rates to certain qualified nonresident
26 students. The board shall adopt a policy to provide for the

1 qualifications of students and the implementation of this
2 section.
3 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
4 first day of the third month following its passage and
5 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
