6 AN ACT

8 To authorize the Chief Executive Officers of the
9 Alabama State Employees Insurance Board and the Local
10 Government Health Insurance Board to approve the offering of
11 group insurance products.
12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
13 Section 1. The Chief Executive Officers of the
14 Alabama State Employees Insurance Board and the Local
15 Government Health Insurance Board, with the consent of their
16 respective boards, may approve the offering of group voluntary
17 work site benefit products, not to include major medical
18 coverage, by insurance carriers that have been approved by the
19 Commissioner of Insurance.
20 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
21 first day of the third month following its passage and
22 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
