6 ENROLLED, An Act,
7 Relating to Marshall County; to authorize the
8 Marshall County Commission to appropriate and expend funds for
9 the operation of the Office of Coroner.
10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
11 Section 1. (a) The Marshall County Commission may
12 appropriate and expend county funds for expenses necessary for
13 the operation of the Office of Coroner in the county. Expenses
14 may include, but are not limited to, computers, telephone
15 service, equipment, supplies, office space, and any other
16 expenses approved by the county commission. The county
17 commission may provide the coroner and his or her deputy with
18 expenses for the operation of a motor vehicle or may furnish
19 the coroner with the use of a county vehicle.
20 (b) The county commission may authorize the coroner
21 to appoint one or more deputy coroners to perform the duties
22 of the coroner in the absence of the coroner and provide for
23 the compensation of any deputy coroner appointed.
24 (c) The county commission may provide an additional
25 expense allowance for the coroner and may provide for the

1 salary of the coroner effective on the next term of office of
2 the coroner. Any expense allowance or salary shall be paid
3 from the general fund of the county.
4 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
5 first day of the third month following its passage and
6 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
