FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB149
2024 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This legislation streamlines the licensure and regulation of nurses by permitting Alaska to join 39 other states that
recognize a multistate license with uniform qualifications and practice expectations. This will reduce barriers to licensure,
enhance license mobility, and increase opportunities for nurses to practice in Alaska.
If the bill passes, the Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing will require $43.4 to cover legal costs,
regulations, printing, and postage in the first year. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing will reimburse the total
cost of the regulations project and outreach through grant funding. The department requests statutory designated
program receipt (SDPR) authority in order to receive these funds.
