FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB 114
2024 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
HB 114 would revise the definition of “village” to include “a census-designated place” and the increase the population
threshold from 1,000 to 1,500 and provides for a definition of “consensus-designated place.”
Increasing the population limit is a policy call and will not impact how the VSW program is implemented.
