STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB096
2023 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This legislation would allow wholesale drug distributors to dispense or distribute, upon the receipt of a physician’s orders,
dialysate, drugs, or devices that are necessary to perform home dialysis; are approved by the Food and Drug
Administration; and are delivered in their original, sealed, and labeled packaging directly to patients with end-stage renal
disease, or to the patient’s designee, for the patient’s self-administration of the dialysis therapy.
The Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing does not anticipate fiscal impact from this legislation.
Professional licensing programs within the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing are funded by
Receipt Supported Services (fund source 1156 Rcpt Svcs (DGF)). Licensing fees for each occupation are set per AS
08.01.065. The total amount of revenue collected approximately equals each occupation’s actual regulatory costs.
