A BILL
FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act removing ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine from the definition of
2 prescription drugs."
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
4 * Section 1. AS 08.80.480(33) is amended to read:
5 (33) "prescription drug" means a drug that, under federal law, before
6 being dispensed or delivered, is required to be labeled with either of the following
7 statements: (A) "Caution: Federal law prohibits dispensing without prescription"; (B)
8 "Caution: Federal law restricts this drug to use by, or on the order of, a licensed
9 veterinarian"; or a drug that is required by an applicable federal or state law or
10 regulation to be dispensed only under a prescription drug order or is restricted to use
11 by practitioners only; "prescription drug" does not include ivermectin or
12 hydroxychloroquine;
