FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. LL0493
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
The bill would establish a wastewater infrastructure grant fund with revenues from the Commercial Passenger Vessel
Environmental Compliance Fund to establish, upgrade, or improve a wastewater treatment collection system or facility in
a port community that serves commercial passenger vessels and passengers. Appropriations from the commercial
passenger vessel environmental compliance fund shall be deposited in a separate account within the fund. The
Department may expend for wastewater infrastructure grants without further appropriation.
This fiscal note reflects the appropriation of the estimated unobligated balance of the Commercial Passenger Vessel
Environmental Compliance Fund at the end of each fiscal year.
The Alaska Clean Water Administrative Fund component was used as a placeholder for this fiscal note. A component for
the Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Fund will be established in the operating budget structure if this bill is enacted.
