FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB 181
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
SB 181 acknowledges the use of the internet as a means to identify a contractor. Current statutes require all
advertisements to show contractor's name, mailing address, and address of the contractor's principal place of business
and the contractor's registration number. This legislation would allow the use of a web address or landing site in
advertisements instead. The website would contain the required information including the contractor's name, mailing
address, and address of the contractor's principal place of business.
The Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing does not anticipate fiscal impact from this legislation.
Professional licensing programs within the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing are primarily
funded by Receipt Supported Services, fund source 1156 Rcpt Svcs (DGF). Licensing fees for each occupation are set per AS
08.01.065 so the total amount of revenue collected approximately equals the occupations actual regulatory costs.
