FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB 276
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
HB 276 makes various changes to the statutes governing the Board of Psychologist and Psychological Associate Examiners.
The bill creates four new license types and adds flexibility in obtaining postdoctoral experience, and clarifies existing
powers of the board and exemptions already valid under federal law.
If the bill passes the following expenses will be incurred. However, the Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional
Licensing can absorb these expenses using existing authority.
Services: $1.5 in FY2023 for legal costs to amend regulations, printing, and postage
Professional licensing programs within the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing are primarily
funded by Receipt Supported Services, fund source 1156 Rcpt Svcs (DGF). Licensing fees for each occupation are set per AS
08.01.065 so the total amount of revenue collected approximately equals the occupations actual regulatory costs.
