FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB 132
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
HB 132 will broaden the available work opportunities of youth employees, allowing for work in the summer extended
daylight hours until 10:00 p.m. It will also allow 16 year old youth to take up employment opportunities without the
written approval of the Wage and Hour office. It will further allow adult relatives to hire related minor(s) to work within
the business owned and operated by the adult relatives without having to acquire a work permit.
This legislation is not expected to have a fiscal impact on the department. The costs to the division should be de minimis
and do not require a change to the current proposed budget.
