FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO.
2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This legislative proposal would rename the current Marine Transportation Advisory Board established under AS 19.65.110
as the new Alaska Marine Highway System Operation and Planning Board, change the composition of board members and
change board member duties.
The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities will provide staff and other assistance for this new board just as the
department has been doing for the current Marine Transportation Advisory Board. Therefore this legislation has no fiscal
impact on the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities.
Future decisions of the newly proposed board could programmatically and/or fiscally impact the Department of
Transportation & Public Facilities and the Alaska Marine Highway System, but there is no fiscal impact specific to this
legislation.
