FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB 69
2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
SB 69 amends AS 42.05.711(r) by extending the exemption for plants or facilities that generate electricity from renewable
energy resources from regulation under Chapter AS 42.05 (Alaska Public Utilities Regulatory Act) if the plant or facility was
first placed into commercial operation on or after August 31, 2010 and before July 1, 2031, rather than July 1, 2021 as the
statute currently states.
The Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) expects to implement the provisions of this legislation with existing resources
and does not anticipate fiscal impact from this legislation.
