STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB 18
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This legislation amends AS 14.20.010 to require that public schools prominently display the names of all teachers at the
school who have achieved national board certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
The legislation places in statute a legislative goal that at least four percent of public school teachers are nationally certified
by 2025. The goal is repealed July 1, 2026.
There is no fiscal impact to the Department of Education and Early Development as a result of this legislation.
