FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. 0
2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
The bill will have no fiscal impact to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. This bill creates awareness of the
benefit and services the veteran or a veterans dependents, survivors, or personal representative have at their disposal.
Individuals and businesses will have to provide a written disclosure that informs the veteran of the free benefit and
service provided by the Veteran Service Officer prior to engaging in a service. Violation of providing no disclosure will incur
a fine of $1000 and the individual or business shall forfeit compensation. At most, the department will need small
assistant from The Office of Information and Technology to publish the disclosure on the Department website. This
assistance would be covered under the Core Services rates. Therefore, the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is
submitting a zero fiscal note.
