A BILL
FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act relating to sport fishing, hunting, and trapping identification cards."
2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
3 * Section 1. AS 16.05.400(b) is amended to read:
4 (b) Upon request, and without charge, the commissioner shall issue a sport
5 fishing, hunting, or trapping identification card to a resident who is 60 years of age or
6 older or who has been discharged from military service under honorable
7 conditions, is eligible for a loan under AS 18.56.101, and is certified by the United
8 States Department of Veterans Affairs as having incurred a 50 percent or greater
9 disability during military service. The commissioner shall issue a permanent
10 identification card without charge to a person who qualifies [BY AGE AND
11 RESIDENCE] and who completes the forms required by the commissioner for
12 implementation of this subsection. A person who is issued a permanent identification
13 card under this subsection may not sport fish, hunt, or trap without having a valid
14 identification card issued under this subsection or the appropriate license in
15 possession.
