FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act relating to transportation of live crab."
2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
3 * Section 1. AS 16.10.240 is amended to read:
4 Sec. 16.10.240. Transportation of live crab [LIVE CRAB]. (a) A person
5 may not take out of or [,] ship, transport, or send from this state any commercially
6 taken live [KING] crab, unless the crab have been landed in a port in the state and
7 recorded on a fish ticket form prescribed by the department [SPECIES
8 PARALITHODES CAMTSCHATICA, LIVE DUNGENESS CRAB, SPECIES
9 CANCER MAGISTER, OR LIVE TANNER CRAB, SPECIES CHIONOECETES
10 BAIRDI, EXCEPT THAT ALL OF THESE SPECIES MAY BE SHIPPED LIVE
11 VIA AIR FREIGHT AFTER PRE-PACKAGING].
12 (b) Notwithstanding (a) of this section, live [DUNGENESS] crab [, SPECIES
13 CANCER MAGISTER,] may be taken, shipped, transported, or sent from the state by
14 means of surface transportation only if the crab are taken at a time and location in the
15 state for which the Department of Environmental Conservation does not require
