2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This bill states that displaying proof of a required document on a mobile electronic device does not constitute consent for a
peace officer to access other contents of the electronic device.
There are laws and policies in place that address unlawful searches and this bill would not impact actions of the law
enforcement. There is no fiscal impact to the Department of Public Safety.
